Lutz Bamboo Collection weaves contemporary art with rich culture
<p>Explore the delicate beauty and function of bamboo in Shape &amp; Spirit: Selections from the Lutz Bamboo Collection, opening at the Denver Art Museum September 26. Military Family Day at The Wildlife Experience
Project Sanctuary and The Wildlife Experience have teamed up for Military Family Day to be held on Saturday, October 3, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at The Wildlife Experience. This special day will honor the community’s military families and Project Sanctuary supporters. Guests need to present a military ID or mention Project Sanctuary to receive 50% discount on general admission and movies, plus discounts on merchandise, food and memberships. Project Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization helping military families heal and reconnect through therapeutic retreats in Colorado.

Project Glean
Project Glean is a great way to serve in the community while bonding with family and friends and ideal for kids of all ages. It runs Saturdays, Sept 12 - Oct 31. Through a special partnership with local farmers in Denver, Brighton and Wellington, volunteers arrive at the farms and harvest Colorado-grown produce. This six-week yoga class is created just for moms and their new babies. Connect with your baby and other new moms while stretching out all those postpartum aches and pains. Dinosaur Discovery Day: Earth Science Week
Celebrate Earth Science Week at the Visitor Center at 16831 W. Alameda Parkway, Morrison from 10am to 3pm. An open house format includes expert guides stationed along the world-famous Dinosaur Ridge trail, where they will point out dinosaur fossils and answer questions. Visitors can hike at their own pace or ride a shuttle bus for $2 (5 & under ride free). Over 60 scientists will tend the ridge stations and also special booths where they will present rock, mineral and fossil identification, map reading, water testing, caving, geologic time, volcanoes, earthquakes, and earth science careers.

Things are going to get spicy in Historic Golden for the second annual Knock Your Boots Off Beer Tasting & Chili Cook-Off, happening October 10, 2009 from 1:00 – 5:00 pm on Arapahoe Street, between 12th and 13th.
